What it is

Reduced ability to control impulses or filter behavior.

How it shows up

Saying or doing things without thinking, interrupting others, inappropriate comments, or acting impulsively.

Why it happens

Stroke affects the frontal lobes, which are responsible for judgment, impulse control, and social behavior.

How common

Uncommon, but can occur with frontal lobe involvement.

Possible management

Behavioral therapy, structured routines, clear social cues, and support from caregivers and clinicians.
