What it is
Loss of coordination affecting one side of the body.
How it shows up
Clumsy or unsteady movements on one side, difficulty reaching accurately, trouble walking, or imbalance.
Why it happens
Stroke affects the cerebellum or its pathways on one side of the brain, disrupting coordination.
How common
Uncommon, but seen in strokes involving the cerebellum or brainstem.
Possible management
Physical and occupational therapy, coordination exercises, balance training, and assistive devices if needed.
