How it shows up

Getting lost in familiar places, difficulty judging distance or direction, or feeling confused about how to navigate spaces.

Why it happens

Stroke can affect brain areas responsible for spatial awareness and navigation, often involving the parietal or temporal lobes.

How common
Possible management

Occupational therapy, using visual cues or landmarks, structured routines, and navigation aids.

Fairly common when spatial processing areas of the brain are affected.
