Double Vision (Diplopia)

Seeing two images of a single object instead of one.

Objects may appear side-by-side, on top of each other, or slightly offset, making reading, walking, or focusing difficult.

Stroke affects the nerves or brain areas that control eye movement and alignment, causing the eyes to not work together properly.

Can occur depending on stroke location, especially with brainstem or cranial nerve involvement.

Eye patches (temporary), prism glasses, vision therapy, and guidance from a specialist.
