Disorientation, trouble following conversations, forgetting where you are or what you’re doing, or feeling mentally “mixed up.”

Stroke disrupts brain function, affecting memory, attention, and processing ability.

How common

Common, especially in the early stages of recovery or during fatigue.

Possible management

Creating a calm, structured environment, using orientation cues (clocks, calendars), rest, and cognitive support strategies.
