What it is
A feeling of mental cloudiness or slowed thinking.
How it shows up
Difficulty concentrating, slow processing, forgetfulness, or feeling mentally “off” or overwhelmed.
Why it happens
Stroke affects cognitive processing, and factors like fatigue, stress, and sleep issues can make it worse.
How common
Very common, especially during recovery and periods of fatigue.
Possible management
Rest, pacing mental activity, reducing distractions, cognitive exercises, and managing sleep and stress.
