What it is

Reduced ability to control impulses, leading to socially inappropriate or unfiltered behavior.

How it shows up

Saying things without thinking, interrupting others, inappropriate jokes or comments, or acting impulsively.

Why it happens

Stroke affects the frontal lobes, which are responsible for impulse control, judgment, and social behavior.

How common

Uncommon, but can occur with frontal lobe strokes.

Possible management

Behavioral therapy, structured routines, clear social cues, and support from caregivers and clinicians.
